Lyrics

Would if be too much for me to ask you to dance
Would it be too much for me to tell you I’m lonely
Would it be too much for you to wrap your arms around me
Would it be too much for us to hold on together

Could it be that we’re standing on the edge of greatness
Could it be that we’re standing where we don’t belong
I’m thinking it could be that we’re standing on the edge of something
Could it be that we’re standing on the edge of love

Would it be too much for me to hold your hand
Would it be too much for me to tell you my story
Would it be too much for you to tell me all your secrets
Would it be too much for us to hold on forever

Could it be that we’re standing on the edge of greatness
Could it be that we’re standing where we don’t belong
I’m thinking it could be that we’re standing on the edge of something
Could it be that we’re standing on the edge of love

Background

I’ve had this song for a long time, but I couldn’t work out the chorus until now.  I originally recorded it with a lot of keyboards, but I like this guitar-heavy version much better.  This track has both kinds of Fender on it – a Strat AND a Tele, as well as my Gibson Les Paul 50’s Tribute.  The one on the album cover.
